  4. I  am  refering  to  the `Rappers`#
  5. article of Joe/E.B.F. published in#
  6. Zine  issue  4. Joe draws a pretty#
  7. wrong  picture  of rappers which I#
  8. cannot  accept  as  I am deep into#
  9. rap and the history of it. What he#
  10. calls  rap  is  nothing like music#
  11. that  is very superficial and does#
  12. not  have  anything to do with the#
  13. purposes  of  black rappers. It is#
  14. absolutely wrong to call the music#
  15. that  `Technotronic` creates `rap`#
  16. for  the  simple  fact  that it is#
  17. only written for entertainment and#
  18. gain of fame and money.           #
  19. Rap music always contains informa-#
  20. tion   about  the  social  circum-#
  21. stances  blacks  live  in  and  is#
  22. supposed   to  bring  out  blacks`#
  23. problems  of  e.g. discrimination,#
  24. drugs,  cops  etc.  Kurtis Blow is#
  25. not  famous  because of the lyrics#
  26. he  made  for the fact that he was#
  27. one  of  the  founders of `the new#
  28. rap  school`  which  mostly  cares#
  29. about   the   music   style   like#
  30. scratching,  mixing and stuff like#
  31. that.  I  am  one  of the only two#
  32. guys  in  my  school  who like rap#
  33. music  and  so  I have a hard time#
  34. defending  myself  against  others#
  35. offense  saying that rap is primi-#
  36. tive and boring and can be created#
  37. by anybody witout any problems.   #
  38. But  it  is  pretty  hard  to make#
  39. these  narrow-minded kids changing#
  40. their  minds.  They  can`t see the#
  41. real  purpose of rap music as they#
  42. do not care about the contents.   #
  43. Most of them cannot understand the#
  44. lyrics  told  in  rap-songs. It is#
  45. hard  to  make good music when the#
  46. message you want to bring about is#
  47. more  important  than  the musical#
  48. composition.  I want all of you to#
  49. see  that  rap  music  is not just#
  50. sampling  shit,  programming  drum#
  51. computers and scratching records. #
  52. Think about it!                   #
